Description
In Owing to the Absence 10, a reclining figure stretches across the full width of the sheet, drawn in fluid, calligraphic lines of black ink. The body’s weight is suggested by pooled washes that gather like shadow beneath it, while swift contour strokes keep the form light, almost lifted from the page.
This 2022–23 ink on paper work measures 77 × 56 cm. Its horizontal calm gives the series’ meditation on absence a moment of rest — a body at ease, fading gently rather than torn away.
