Description
Owing to the Absence 11 layers two profiles that overlap and merge within veils of black ink. It is unclear where one face ends and the other begins; the drawing becomes a meditation on relation — on the people who remain with us even in absence, their features braided into our own.
Ink on paper, 77 × 56 cm, from 2022–23. The doubled portrait is among the most tender works in the series, its ambiguity deliberate and deeply felt.
