Description
Owing to the Absence 5 moves in close on the human face, building it from blocks of saturated black ink interrupted by thin, hesitant lines. The eyes remain just defined enough to meet the viewer’s gaze, holding a presence that the surrounding darkness threatens to absorb.
Made in 2022–23 in ink on paper, 77 × 56 cm, the work belongs to a series exploring absence — what is left of a person once the physical form is gone, and how a few marks on paper can carry that weight.
