Description
“Mirage 01” opens the series with a single beaked yucca burning green against the dark. The plant sits inside a smaller painted panel — a painting within the painting — while the outer field is worked in scratched black and deep blue, the paint dragged and scraped back to let earlier layers breathe through. Beda builds the surface by applying oil paint, scratching into it, removing passages, and painting over them again. The yucca’s fronds are laid down in quick loaded strokes that keep the motion of the hand visible. Original oil on canvas, 11×14 inches (28×36 cm), 2026. Signed, with certificate of authenticity.
