Owing to the Absence 16

Description

Owing to the Absence 16 gathers its energy in dark, saturated passages of ink that seem to gather and then abandon a recognizable form. A shadow of a figure moves through the composition, never fully arriving, leaving behind streaks and sediment of black that record its passage. The paper holds these gestures like evidence — of a presence glimpsed and then lost. The work’s emotional charge builds from this incompleteness, drawing the viewer into the act of remembering.
