Description
Owing to the Absence 22 carries the weight of its making in dense, layered ink that settles across the sheet like weather over a landscape. Mounted on wood panel, the work gains a physical authority — the paper’s fragility steadied by a rigid ground. Dark forms press forward and recede, caught between recognition and erasure, as if the image were being remembered rather than drawn. It is one of the most commanding pieces of the series, where absence feels almost sculptural.
