Description
The hero of the series. “Mirage 11” spans 60×80 inches: two wooden chairs dissolving into a storm of blue and violet dabs above and deep green impasto below. The beaked yuccas are here too, abstracted through handmade stencils into a philosophy of landscape — felt, not rendered. This is the painting the whole series points toward. Beda built it in layers over the full 60×80 field: paint applied, scratched away, reapplied, the chairs emerging and submerging in the foliage. A mirage is a longing given shape, and at this scale the longing is physical. Original oil on canvas, 153×203 cm, 2026. Signed, with certificate of authenticity.
