Description
In Owing to the Absence 4, a seated figure leans forward as if lost in thought, the body assembled from urgent, overlapping strokes of black ink. Pools of dilute wash gather around the form like shadow, leaving large passages of white paper to suggest the emptiness the series contemplates.
This 2022–23 work measures 77 × 56 cm and is executed in ink on paper. The drawing’s restless line work holds the figure together at the very moment it seems about to dissolve.
